Dunwoody’s New Police Force
The Dunwoody Police Department, led by Police Chief Billy Grogan, launched on Wednesday, April 1, 2009. Dunwoody debuted its 48 sworn police officers and fleet of 40 black-and-white Ford Crown Victoria police cruisers. Two weeks earlier, the city of Dunwoody cut in half, the cost of the Dunwoody’s communications system. Originally, the city council approved, then reversed, a $220,000 contract to cover services from telephones to internet access in patrol cars. The city finally approved a $107,000 contract, by removing integrated faxing and overhead paging.
Some of the city of Dunwoody’s neighborhoods include Dunwoody Club and Dunwoody Club Forest, Kingsley, Buckline Crossing, Dunwoody Village, Mt. Vernon Springs, Deerfield, Hunters Branch, Redfield, Hidden Branches, Brooke Farm, Tilly Mill, North Wellington, Meadowlake, Ravinia, Oxford Chase, Devinger, Wellesley, Winter’s Chapel and the area around Zabin Park.
